Brittany - Senior Session

This was a senior session we did at a park and downtown (obviously). We had such a fun time with Brittany --she really got into the whole "modeling" thing!! We had a fun time seeing what outfit she was going to come out with next - and while waiting for her clothing changes, looking through the fabulous variety of jewelry she brought with her (it's either her other sister or aunt that makes it I'm pretty sure)!! We were very jealous. :)

Well, here's a few faves from Brittany's session. Enjoy!

The Zwier Family - Part Three

The last installment of the Zwier Family photoshoots! :) This was definitely our most packed full day of picture taking ever!! But luckily the Zwier's were a fun bunch, so it was a very enjoyable day! We stretched our posing minds to the max and then some, but I think we got alot of fun and different pictures out of it all - and I don't think we used the same pose more than once! I didn't post near as many of the family photos as I would have liked to, but I had to include a couple cute ones of Julie and Pete, as well as one of Mike (everyone else got their moment in the spotlight after all!!)! :) So.....enjoy.

We LOVED the punch of color. White and jean is a reliable standby for family photos of course, but all the bright and bold colors of their shirts really made them stand out from the background!

Such a cute family!

I really like the way this one ended up looking. Tammy and I had a lot of fun coming up with different poses for them all to do - plus it was good practice, which you can't ever get enough of!

And here's the handy hammock prop in action! :) Julie and Pete were so cute together!

See how cute they are together?? Pete was such a good sport about all the picture taking - we all know guys aren't big fans of getting their pictures taking! But he seemed to have a good time and even snapped a few of his own when we took the kids to the wheat field! :)

And of course, here's MIKE! :) He was SO tall, I had to have him sit down so he wouldn't be looking wayyyy down at me in the picture, since we all know that I'm such a tall person myself! :) Very cute picture though...um, I mean, manly and not cute in the least bit!! ;)

Just a cute relaxed picture of them all.

This was definitely my (and Tammy!) favorite of the family. Everyone just looks nice and natural and relaxed...just hangin out. :) LOVE this one.

Thanks so much Julie and Pete for allowing us to photograph you and your family - we had such a great time with all of you and hope you will enjoy these pictures for years to come!!

Oh yes, and thanks for the scrumptious dinner you made us - dinner at a photoshoot, definitely a first for us! Hopefully not a last either, it was tasty and a nice break while waiting for the sunset. Plus we learned how to eat hamburgers in a very unique way!! ;)

The Zwier Family - Part Two

This ended up being our first official unofficial Trash the Dress session! :) Laura and Ryan wanted to get some unique and beautiful pictures of her in her wedding dress - and they sure did!! We had such a fun time with them, especially since Laura wasn't planning on it being a TTD session but was completely game for it when we suggested it! Sandy beach, wheat field expedition, Lake Michigan and all!! :) Ryan was a trooper too, he had to endure a LOT of pictures that day since he was in this shoot, as well as the Family shoot! So, much thanks to you both for making our first Trash the Dress session so fun and relaxed!!

Love this romantic one of them in the wheat field we found!

Laura used to be in ballet, so we had her do some of her ballet on the shoreline for us. Besides the pretty spot, her beautiful twirling dress made these shots some of our favorites!

Love it.

Another beautiful ballet photo!

We ended up using both this swing and their hammock at their cottage in a few pictures - it was a nice prop and the pictures turned out great on them!

This wasn't originally a silhouette shot, but I loved it so much more as one! The clouds, the sunset, the rays of the sun...so pretty!

This was a picture I'd been wanting to do for a while now, and I finally got the chance to capture it! :) I LOVE the way it turned out!

Thought I'd end with a picture that looks like an ending. :) This is one of my personal favorites, I love the way it looks with the two little paths and the wheat and greens on either side of them...it's just a cute picture. :)

Thanks for a great first TTD session Laura and Ryan!!

The Zwier Family - Part One

We divided the Zwier Family Session into 3 different parts, so I'm going to post them as three separate posts. It was all in one afternoon/evening however, out at their lovely family cottage up north. We photographed the entire family, Katie (a senior session), and Laura & Ryan (a TTD session).

The first I'm going to post about is Katie Zwier who's about to begin her last year of high school - congrats Katie!! We had a fun time shooting with her, she was game for any crazy suggestion we threw her way...and we can come up with many! :) Here are some of my more favorite photos from that afternoon:

Tammy and I loved her dress, it went perfectly with the colors in the wheat field.

Right after Katie hopped on this, a big wave came crashing over it and almost rolled it over! Luckily, we got a great picture before it happened though! :)

So cute. I really liked the jean pictures. (As you can tell, we had her in the water a bit!)

Tammy and I really like this picture - notice her "model hair!" That's our favorite part! :) The colors, the waves and whitecaps, a few clouds, the splash around her feet...it's a great photo!

I like the peaceful/thoughtful look to this one.

Yup, I'm pretty sure her legs went all the way up to my shoulders!!

Well, there was your sample of Katie's part of the shoot, hope you enjoyed the pictures! Thanks to Katie for being so willing to work with us and our suggestions, and again, congratulations on becoming a senior! Enjoy your last year of high school!!

First Post! - DeBoer Wedding

Tammy and I photographed Lindy and Brian's wedding a little over a month ago now. The wedding took place in Holland, Michigan at a church in downtown Holland, with the reception taking place at Windmill Island. This was our first wedding in Holland, and hopefully not our last because it was beautiful! Of course, it helps that the bride was beautious herself!! :) Lindy was the cutest and prettiest little miniature bride ever! We had such a FUN time that day - it was quite a long one, but very fun. The bridal party was a very animated bunch and we all had a good time doing pictures together - even the boys! :) We had a little rain during the time we were doing pictures before the ceremony (We did ALL the pictures before the ceremony, which was a first for us, and it was WONDERFUL. I highly recommend it for any brides to be!!), but luckily Lindy and Brian were flexible and we still managed to get some unique and pretty pictures! I could write a bunch more about this wedding, but I'll stop now since I know all you really want is to see some portraits from it! :)

The boys having some fun with a sign they found (it says "Stallion Service & DeBoer" on it)!

I could post quite a few more portraits, believe me! But these were just a few of (MANY!) our favorites. It was a very beautiful and fun wedding, which always results in great images! We're looking forward to designing Lindy and Brian their own personalized wedding album - it'll just be so hard to pick which photos won't make it into the album!! I will leave you with one more portrait, and it's our personal favorite!
